Can anyone help me understand where the time went this summer?! My mind and body haven't quite come to grips with the fact I've had students for EIGHT days already.
There is a lot of new stuff happening this year. If you've ever changed schools, you know what I mean. Luckily, my school is phenomenal so far. I'm loving my students, colleagues and administration-- it makes me realize how wonderful it can be to teach in a rural setting. This school is doing it right. STaRLT will have some changes this year, too. As a part of the GaDOE PLC community, we will be shifting some of our platforms. I'm just now getting my head wrapped around what it will look like, so please bear with me during the growing pains. Wishing you all a wonderful 2022-2023 school year! -Shannon

Teachers are a curious bunch: we love to see what others are doing in their classes, but we don't always want to share our work with the world. I admit, that's me, too- but it's mostly because I don't want people to deem my stuff inferior.
But you know what, I'm moving out of that mindset. One of the reasons I started STaRLT was to collaborate with others in similar teaching situations as mine (rural, singleton language), so I want to renew my commitment to that. I've added some new pages that will be updated at a (hopefully) regular pace. I'd LOVE to have others contribute to the website with their work- so please reach out ([email protected]) if you want to contribute! As we begin to contemplate what STaRLT sessions look like for the next school year, my hope is to include more collaborative discussions and sharing of ideas within our community. Hoping you are doing well and feeling strong as we push towards the end of another challenging school year. - Shannon |
